Sony Vaio VPCW21FX Hard Drive Replacement

What you need

  1. Sony Vaio VPCW21FX Hard Drive Replacement, Battery: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Make sure your device is powered off and unplugged to avoid electric shock.

    • Place your device upside down with the bottom panel facing upwards.

    • Orient the device so the battery is away from you as shown

    • Unlock the battery by sliding the lock switch to the right.

    • Locate the release latch. Slide the latch to the left to remove the battery from your laptop.

    • Be sure to lift up on the battery while you slide the latch to the left.

    • Remove the battery from your laptop.

    • Remove the two 4.8mm screws that are holding the bottom right panel cover.

    • Remove the Panel cover by lifting it up.

    • Remove the two 4.8mm screws that are holding the hard drive down.

    • Grab the black tab that is attached to the hard drive.

    • Slide hard drive to the left to release it from the computer

    • Pull drive up from there and it will come out.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
