Sony ICF-P26 Antenna Replacement

What you need

    • Power off and disconnect the radio from any power source.

    • Use a mini screwdriver to remove the two screws from the battery compartment.

    • Gently insert an opening tool where the FM/AM/Off switch is, to force your way up.

    • Insert the opening tool in the other side where the volume and the earphone go.

    • You will hear hinges pop open.

    • Use the mini screwdriver to remove the screw holding the motherboard.

    • Unscrew the damaged antenna.

    • Use the mini screwdriver to replace the new antenna.

    • Use the mini screwdriver to assemble the motherboard.

    • Use the mini screwdriver to assemble the cover.

    • Insert the batteries.

    • Switch on the radio.

Where would one acquire a compatible replacement antenna for this model of radio?

Thank you so much. The difficulty is opening the case. You explained it very well. My problem was the dirty potentiometer. I simply poured enough isopropyl alcool on it, to "wash" it, it flowed inside, turn it few times, that was all. Works as new. Thank you.
