  1. Unscrew the back cover.

    • Take care when removing the hose to hold on to the spring inside.

  8. Pry the motor up from the base.
    • Pry the motor up from the base.

  9. Unplug the black cord connected to the top of the motor.
    • Unplug the black cord connected to the top of the motor.

    • Remove the motor.

  10. Replace the motor.
    • Replace the motor.

  11. Reassemble the air compressor and continue use.
    • Reassemble the air compressor and continue use.

I burnt my slime rechargeable compressor, model 40028. Do you know if the dc motor is the same for all models. Or, will I have to look at the motor once I get it out.

I have since opened my slime air compressor, removed the motor and there are no markings on it for a model number or identifying features.

David, did you ever figure out the motor? Also, where would one buy a replacement motor?
