Siemens Washing Machine Dispenser Drawer Cleaning

What you need

    • Turn off the washing machine and unplug it before removing or cleaning the dispenser drawer.

    • Keep water away from the control panel, plug, and outlet while you clean.

    • Wear rubber gloves if detergent residue irritates your skin or the drawer is very dirty.

    • This guide uses a Siemens VarioPerfect washing machine, and other Siemens models may have minor differences.

    • Clean the dispenser drawer about every six months to reduce residue, residue, and odors.

    • Place a hand under the dispenser drawer and pull it straight out until it stops.

    • Press down on the blue release button inside the drawer.

    • Hold the blue release button down and pull the dispenser drawer fully out of the washing machine.

    • Use an brush to scrub the detergent and conditioner compartments until the residue is gone.

    • Pay extra attention to corners and areas with thick washing powder or conditioner buildup.

    • Rinse away loosened soap and grime before refitting the drawer.

    • Use a cloth to wipe inside the dispenser drawer cavity while the drawer is removed.

    • Remove visible detergent powder, conditioner sludge, and grime from the drawer opening.

    • Don't spray water into the drawer cavity, because water can reach electrical parts behind the control panel.

    • Press the blue release button down on the dispenser drawer.

    • Line up the drawer with the grooves in the dispenser opening.

    • Push the drawer all the way in until it sits flush.

    • If the drawer binds, pull it out and realign it instead of forcing it.

    • Open the washing machine door and inspect the rubber door seal around the drum.

    • Check that the drainage holes in the rubber seal are clear.

    • Use a cloth and hot, soapy water to wipe dirt, lint, and residue from the rubber seal.

    • Don't use sharp tools on the rubber seal, because punctures can cause leaks.

    • Close the door and the dispenser drawer.

    • Plug in the washing machine.

    • Select a 90 °C wash program, the hottest wash available, or the Drum Clean option if the machine has one.

    • Run the wash with no clothes in the drum to flush residue from the machine.
