Shenzhou k680e Silicone Grease Replacement

Introduction

This guide will teach you how to clean your fan and replace the silicone grease in your Shenzhou k680e laptop. Too much dust in the fan of your laptop will seriously weaken the heat radiation of your computer. It will make your computer work slowly and can lead to a crash which would cost you a lot of time. In addition, silicone grease on the chips plays an important role on heat radiation, so it’s important to replace it after a long time.

Place the computer on a table so that its bottom surface is facing you.

Remove all the screws on the bottom with a screwdriver.

Slide the battery upwards to remove it from the laptop.

Pry the back panel away from the laptop using an opening tool.

Remove the screws from the fan.
Detach the fan's wire from the motherboard.

Remove the screws from the CPU in the following order according to the index numbers beside the screws: 3, 2, 1.
When you reinstall these screws you should follow the order: 1, 2, 3.

Remove the heat sink from the laptop.
There is some old thermal paste on the copper section of the heat sink.

Use an alcohol wipe to clean the thermal paste on the copper sheet.
You must use an alcohol wipe since alcohol is volatile and will not stay inside the computer, unlike water.
