Introduction

Having a small hole in your sweater is something that happens to everybody. Whether it’s been caught on something or accidentally torn, sewing it back up will make it look as good as new without having to replace it!

What you need

Ensure the hole is small enough to be easily repaired with sewing.

Step 2

Thread the needle with a length of thread doubling it over at the end to secure it.
At a good length (depending on the size of the hole), cut off the excess and tie a knot at the end of the thread.

Position the sweater with the hole facing up on a flat surface. Make sure your sweater is inside out.
This will make the stitches not as visible.

Insert the needle into the fabric slightly above the hole, pulling it through the backside of the sweater, and repeat this process along the edges of the hole to create a series of stitches.
