Introduction

This guide will show how to remove the covers from the underside of the laptop, remove the battery, and replace it with the new battery.

Image 1/3: Remove the single screw holding the hard drive cover in place. This screw is 6.7 mm long. Image 2/3: Take off the cover using the built-in lips for leverage. Image 3/3: Take off the cover using the built-in lips for leverage.
  • Before beginning, make sure the laptop is completely powered off and it is not being charged via the power cord.

  • Remove the single screw holding the hard drive cover in place. This screw is 6.7 mm long.

  • Take off the cover using the built-in lips for leverage.

Image 1/2: Remove the screws holding the cover on from under the hard drive cover. These are 6.7 mm long. Image 2/2: Remove the screws holding the cover on from under the hard drive cover. These are 6.7 mm long.
  • Remove the rest of the screws holding the entire back cover in place. There are 13 of these screws. These are 4.0 mm long.

  • Remove the screws holding the cover on from under the hard drive cover. These are 6.7 mm long.

  • Remove the rubber pads near where the hard drive cover was using a sharp pair of tweezers.

  • Unscrew the 4 mm screws underneath these pads.

  • Remove the entire rest of the back cover.

  • Remove the tape holding the wires in place.

  • Unscrew the four 4.5 mm screws holding the battery in place.

  • Unscrew the two 6.7 mm screws at the top of the battery.

  • Unplug the battery from the motherboard.

  • Remove the battery from its position on the underside of the laptop.
