The plastic piece that you screw the mounting screw into is broken on our refrigerator. How can I open up the door to replace that plastic piece? Thanks.

Hi Kevin, were you able to fix the plastic piece. I also have a similar issue where the plastic broke off

Any leads on where to buy the plastic part?

4mm is too big, I had to use a 2.5 instead.

According to Samsung, that 'plastic piece', also known as the Freezer Door Handle Mounting Cap, (the part that the handle mounting stud is attached through), has no part number... "There are not part numbers assigned to these parts as this model doesn’t allow the replacement of them". The only part option Samsung offers is the Freezer Door Assembly, currently about $350 plus Sales Tax and Shipping.

Once your Samsung appliance gets to be more than 2 or 3 years old, Samsung simply has horrible customer support and unreliable parts support for it's products.
