If you forgot your password, pattern drill, you can log-in with your Google account, registered in this tablet or by entering Backup Pin.
If you can't do this, you can do factory reset. This will erase all your personal information (include password).

If you forgot your password, pattern drill, first you can try to sign in on your device by entering your Google account.

Switch off the tablet.

Press and hold the Home, Volume Up and Power On buttons.

When you see the Galaxy logo, release the power On button

Now you are in the Android System Recovery menu.

Use Volume Up/Down keys for navigation and Power On for selection.

Select one by one:

wipe data/factory reset

Yes -- erase all user data

reset system now

Did you do it successfully?

Thanks so much. I was trying to do factory reset. Other sites left out pressing the home button
I have a Samsung Galaxy tab 3 10 inch, when I turn it on I can't get past the samsung start up screen. I've tried the hard reset home power and vol up buttons but all I get is the samsung logo, any Ideas it was working earlier?
