Introduction

This guide will show how to remove the camera's lens.

Parts

No parts required.

  1. First remove the two black 4.2mm screws on the right side of the camera by using a Phillips #0 screwdriver. Next remove the two black 4.2mm screws on the left side of the camera by using a Phillips #0 screwdriver. Finally remove the black 4.2mm screws on the bottom of the camera by using  a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
    • First remove the two black 4.2mm screws on the right side of the camera by using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Next remove the two black 4.2mm screws on the left side of the camera by using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Finally remove the black 4.2mm screws on the bottom of the camera by using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  2. Take off the back case of the camera. Take off the back case of the camera.
    • Take off the back case of the camera.

  3. Take off the front case of the camera gently Take off the front LCD gently, so the front casing is completely free Take off the front LCD gently, so the front casing is completely free
    • Take off the front case of the camera gently

    • Take off the front LCD gently, so the front casing is completely free

  5. Remove the back button control from its nesting Pull the tape connection to disconnect the back button control from the rest of the camera
    • Remove the back button control from its nesting

    • Pull the tape connection to disconnect the back button control from the rest of the camera

  6. Remove the Back LCD screen from its nest.
    • Remove the Back LCD screen from its nest.

  7. Flip the black tab where the Back LCD screen connects to the circuit board Pull the tape connection to disconnect the Back LCD screen from the circuit board
    • Flip the black tab where the Back LCD screen connects to the circuit board

    • Pull the tape connection to disconnect the Back LCD screen from the circuit board

  8. Unscrew the 3 silver #0 Phillips 4.45mm screws from the circuit board cover Remove the circuit board cover
    • Unscrew the 3 silver #0 Phillips 4.45mm screws from the circuit board cover

    • Remove the circuit board cover

  9. Flip the first black tab connecting the lens to the circuit board Flip the second black tab connecting the lens to the circuit board
    • Flip the first black tab connecting the lens to the circuit board

    • Flip the second black tab connecting the lens to the circuit board

    • Push the lens out from the front to remove it from the camera
