Introduction

This will consist of taking apart the camera by using the Phillips 000 bit and the smallest opening tool available in order to replace the back facing LED screen. In order to take out the screen you will have to unclamp areas lifting up the outer layer protecting the motherboard. This will lead to the release of digital ribbons connected from the to the motherboard.

Image 2/3: Use the''' Phillips bit 000 '''to remove all screws and place them on a magnetic pad or somewhere safe Image 3/3: Take a '''small plastic opening tool '''to the corner by the Micro USB plug. This area will allow to get some leverage in order to take off the plastic casing of the back of the camera
  • Locate the blue latch that holds the battery in the battery chamber. Using your fingernail or a plastic opening tool, push it away from the battery, in the direction of the arrow.

  • Take out the battery before proceeding.

  • Use the Phillips bit 000 to remove all screws and place them on a magnetic pad or somewhere safe

  • Take a small plastic opening tool to the corner by the Micro USB plug. This area will allow to get some leverage in order to take off the plastic casing of the back of the camera

We will also have to use the prying tool to unhook the casing from the plate covering the motherboard.   • First, we will want to use the prying tool combined with fingers to unlock the outer casing holding the back part of the camera together. Leave on the front casing.

  • Second, we use a Phillips screw driver to unscrew two small screws holding the outer casing to the mother board. We will also have to use the prying tool to unhook the casing from the plate covering the motherboard.

Image 2/3: Lift up the metal casing with one hand and take the other to snap the ribbon connector back so that you can remove the display screen ribbon attached. Image 3/3: Replace the screen then repeat all of these steps in reverse order.
  • Before replacing the display screen you have to release the ribbon from the button casing connected to the motherboard.

  • Be gentle when removing the ribbon but use some force.

  • Replace the screen then repeat all of these steps in reverse order.
