Introduction

In this guide, you will learn how to replace or remove the power cord to a Samsung BD-F5700 Blu-Ray player. You will see step-by-step how to open the device, which screws to remove, and how to ultimately remove the power cord from the device. This repair would be needed if your device is no longer getting power to it. Always make sure the device is unplugged before beginning to work on it, as there is a chance of shock from exposed wiring.

  1. Use Phillips 0 Screwdriver to remove two (2) 10 mm rear screws. Use a plastic prying tool to help separate the top plastic casing from the bottom metal casing. When opening the device,  pay attention to the ribbon cable circled in image 3.
    • Use Phillips 0 Screwdriver to remove two (2) 10 mm rear screws.

    • Use a plastic prying tool to help separate the top plastic casing from the bottom metal casing.

    • When opening the device, pay attention to the ribbon cable circled in image 3.

  2. Use Phillips 0 screwdriver to remove two (2) 10 mm screws from the plastic cover Remove plastic cover from board. Remove plastic cover from board.
    • Use Phillips 0 screwdriver to remove two (2) 10 mm screws from the plastic cover

    • Remove plastic cover from board.

  4. Pull up on back of wire to  dislocate black tab piece from device. To remove the cord from the device entirely, press on the white tab in the device and gently pull.
    • Pull up on back of wire to dislocate black tab piece from device.

    • To remove the cord from the device entirely, press on the white tab in the device and gently pull.

  5. Insert plastic prying tool into black tab on power cord, and use leverage to open the black tab.
    • Insert plastic prying tool into black tab on power cord, and use leverage to open the black tab.

    • Pull the tab off the wire so that it can be placed on the replacement cord.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
