I just did this after dropping my Nexus 7 and experiencing the screen flicker.

Take the back cover off as described here

Nexus 7 Battery Replacement

Ensure the battery plug is connected well. Straighten the battery back up. Worked perfectly.

just tried this, couldn`t find the right tool so used a 1mm guitar pick and credit card. worked perfectly and now my Nexus is working again. thanks.
