Introduction
This guide provides procedure to replace the battery for Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 rugged-laptop.
There are several variants for CF-19 series including Mk 1 through Mk 6. However, replacement procedure for the battery is identical regardless the model number of the laptop. This procedure does not require specific tool or equipment.

Check the part number and technical specification of the replacement battery. The part number for the CF-19 series is CF-VZSU48. Additional alphabets and/or numbers would follows the CF-VZSU48 depending on the countries or local regulations.

Inspect the exterior of the replacement battery. Pay attention on followings;

Exterior: Any damage on exterior plastic housing, any leakage of internal material of the battery assembly.

Battery connector: No foreign objects on the electrical contact is allowed.

Locate the battery compartment of the laptop. The battery compartment of the CF-19 is located at the right side of its body, near to the user.

Locate the locking latch on the battery compartment door.

Slide the locking latch to the right side.

With the locking latch positioned to the right side, slide it to downward. Small sound of unlocking would be heard.

With the locking latch slid downwards, pull the upper side of the battery compartment door.

Locate the battery in the battery compartment.
-
Locate the small strap on the battery.

Hold the small strap and pull out the battery to completely separate and remove the battery from the laptop.

Inspect inside of the battery compartment prior to install the replacement battery. Ensure there is no foreign objects.

Slide the battery inside of the battery compartment.

The battery housing fits the contour of the battery compartment. If you need excessive force to install the battery, check the orientation of the battery.

Prior to close the battery compartment door, inspect the sealing around the rim of the door. If the sealing is intact, close the door.

Slide the locking latch to upwards and slide it to left side to complete lock the battery compartment door.

Follow the instructions in reverse order, to reassemble the instrument.
