Repairing a Dried-Out Sharpie Marker

What you need

    • Remove the cap of the Sharpie.

    • Use a pair of pliers to separate the black part from the grey part of the Sharpie.

    • This can be a little difficult, so you may need to use two pairs of pliers to pull them apart.

    • Pull out the ink pad.

    • Only touch the sides of the ink pad so that you do not get ink on yourself.

    • Draw the rubbing alcohol into the syringe.

    • Drip the rubbing alcohol into the part of the ink pad that has a sponge with a hole in its center. Do this until the sponge seems saturated (or about 5 drops).

    • Put the ink pad back in.

    • Put the black part and grey part of the Sharpie back together.

    • Put the cap of the Sharpie back on.
