Repairing Canon PowerShot Lens Error E-18

What you need

  1. Repairing Canon PowerShot Lens Error E-18, Repairing Canon PowerShot Lens Error E-18: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Place camera lens facing upwards on the table.

    • Press and hold down the power button.

    • Simultaneously press down the shutter button.

  2. Repairing Canon PowerShot Lens Error E-18: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Replace the batteries in the camera.

    • To open the battery cover slide the black lever on the underside of the camera and pull the cover toward the front.

    • Remove the old batteries from the camera and wait a few moments.

    • Put in a fresh set of batteries.

    • Close battery slide and power camera back on.

    • Put blow dryer in the "no heat" setting prior to plugging it in.

    • Plug in and turn the blow dryer on.

    • Blow air in the gaps between the lens.
