What you need

    • Turning the Router over you find 4 rubber feet hiding 4 Philips head screws.

    • Remove the screws and turn the router back upright.

    • The top of the case should now lift off.

    • The C928 Capacitor 100uF 25v is the one talked about in the forum mentioned in the intro.

    • While I was checking the solder side of the board I noticed there was a bad solder joint on this cap. You cant see it at this resolution though.

    • While checking the state of the other caps on the board I noticed that this one 1000uF 10v was also showing signs of heat stress.

    • Both capacitors were replaced.

    • You can see the new caps in position on the right.

    • For the princely sum AU $1.20 in parts, 20 mins setting up, 5 mins to fix, 5 mins to put it all away I have saved myself aprox $200 for a new VOIP router :)

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
