This guide will show how to remove the back cover.

Image 1/3: After the removal of screws, the bottom of the back half of the external case should loosen from camera. Image 2/3: Be careful to make sure you don't lose the screws. Image 3/3: Be careful to make sure you don't lose the screws.
  • Remove the six external screws from the camera using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  • After the removal of screws, the bottom of the back half of the external case should loosen from camera.

  • Be careful to make sure you don't lose the screws.

  • Open the battery cover on the bottom of the camera and carefully remove the battery.

  • Slide your fingernail or a plastic spudger in the groove from the bottom to the top of the right side of the camera.

Image 1/1: The cover may make a “cracking” sound. This is normal. Continue to pull the external cover and it will come off cleanly.
  • Carefully squeeze the top right corner of the camera to pry off the external cover.

  • Beware of the flash capacitor. It carries an electrical charge, and you could get an unpleasant shock from it.
