Introduction

This guide informs you on the proper way to remove the bumper buttons on the PowerA Spectra Controller.

The bumper buttons are two identical buttons located on top of the controller directly across from each other. These buttons may have to be replaced due to worn out springs or joints.

Make sure to disconnect any electrical connections before maintenance.

What you need

Step 1 Rear Case

Flip the controller over so the backplate is facing up.

Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the eight 7.8 mm screws that secure the rear case.

Hold the front case in one hand and pull the rear case off.

Remove the two 7.8 mm screws from the motherboard with a Phillips screwdriver.

Grasp the front plate and motherboard and slowly pull apart to access the bumpers.

Use angled tweezers to unclip the bumper spring from the front plate.

Lift up the bumper and slide off the bumper axis to remove.
