Palm Pre Volume Button Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide

Introduction

Some owners of the Palm Pre, have had lost volume buttons due to them "popping" off.

What you need

1. Step 1 Battery
  Make sure your Palm Pre is turned off before disassembling the phone.
  
  Snap off the back panel to reveal the battery.

2. Step 2
  Carefully pull up on the tab to remove the current battery.

1. Step 3 Volume Button
  Locate the volume cavity on the right of the back frame.

2. Step 4
  Take your new volume button and slide in into the slot until the opposite end clicks.
  
  You will have to use some force to do so.
