Nokia 8260 Circuit Board Replacement

What you need

  1. Nokia 8260 Circuit Board Replacement, Battery: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Turn off the cell phone.

    • Press down on the round button on the back cover of the phone.

    • Slide the back cover down while still pressing the button.

    • Remove the back cover.

    • Press the end of the battery towards the top of the phone.

    • Lift the battery outwards while still pressing it upwards till it pops out.

    • You may need to take several attempts to lift out the battery.

    • Squeeze the flat end of the spudger into the crack right under the word "Nokia" on the back of the phone.

    • This step may be a bit difficult if you are removing the antenna for the first time.

    • Pry open the antenna door by pulling down the top of the spudger

    • Remove the antenna door.

    • If the gold antenna remained stuck to the door, you have finished removing the antenna from the phone.

    • If the gold antenna is still in the phone, carefully remove it and stick it onto the back of the door.

    • Try to keep the antenna as flat as possible. Do not bend it.

    • Remove the five screws with the Torx Screwdriver: two near the bottom, two in the middle, and one under the antenna door.

    • The two bottom screws are longer than the upper three.

    • Remove the back covering.

    • Remove the two screws at the top.

  14. Nokia 8260 Circuit Board Replacement: step 14, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the metal plating and the circuit board.

    • There is nothing holding the rest of the phone together. Handle the rest of the phone carefully.

    • The LCD will be attached to the circuit board.
