Introduction

Welcome to our teams guide to fixing the shoulder buttons on a DS Lite. We will be providing you with the easiest way to repair the DS Lite shoulder buttons without paying costly fees to get a replacement.

The tools you’ll need for this task are:

  • A Nintendo DS Lite
  • Spudger or other flat tool
  • Screwdrivers
    • Phillips
    • Tri-wing
  • A small box (Anything that can separate the screws taken from the DS in order to not lose them)

If you’ve gathered the materials, let’s get work!

  1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw securing the battery cover.

  2. Use a spudger or other flat tool to pry out the battery.

  3. Carefully pry the bottom cover off.

    • Remove the shoulder buttons by pulling out the metal pegs that secure them to DS.

    • The triggers are held in by tiny metal pegs and springs. Keep track of each piece.
