Introduction

If your pictures are blurry or losing quality, the front camera may need to be replaced. This guide will take you through the steps to replace the front camera which is quite easy. First you will disconnect the battery, then remove the front camera. The most difficult part will be removing the back cover, so please follow the steps carefully. The entire process is moderately difficult and will take you approximately 15 minutes to complete.

  1. If you see any leakage coming from the tablet do not open the back cover! Ensure you do not pry around the buttons.  This could result in damage and render them inoperable. •With the tip of the thin metal spudger in place, use a prying motion to work the spudger down the side to the corner of the device.

  13. Locate the white ribbon cable Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) connector between the battery and the motherboard, and peel the yellow cellophane tape off the connector.

  14. Flip up the gray retainer clip on the white ribbon cable ZIF connector on the motherboard with your fingernail.   16. Move the spudger in a left-to-right scraping motion to loosen the glue until the battery is separated from the tablet.   21. Be careful when removing the camera.  The underside of the camera head has adhesive and may be adhered to the tablet.  If this happens, use the black plastic spudger to carefully pry up on the underside of the camera head to loosen it from the tablet before pulling on the ribbon cable with the tweezers. Use tweezers to remove the front camera by pulling.
