Motorola Razr V3 LCD Screens and Call Speaker Replacement

What you need

    • Remove the back cover by pressing down the silver button.

    • Pull the cover away from the phone.

    • Remove the battery by pushing down on the top and pulling it away from the phone.

    • Use tweezers to pry off the four rubber screw covers from the inside face.

    • Our phone is missing the two left screw covers, be careful not to lose yours too!

    • Remove the four T5 Torx screws that were underneath the rubber covers.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to pry the top cover away from the phone.

    • The side buttons on the phone may fall out when the top cover is separated from the phone. They can easily be put back by placing them in their original spot.

    • Use the spudger to pry off the plastic lens that covers the LCD screen.

    • You will feel some resistance due to the adhesive put in between the screen and the plastic lens. Be careful not to damage the LCD screen.

    • When reassembling, put the screen lens on last. It is much easier to align the lens when you use the upper casing as a guide.

    • Use the tweezers to gently pry the silver ribbon cable up towards you.

    • Be careful not to damage the ribbon cable when pulling it off, as it can be fragile.

    • Use he tweezers to flip up the tab.

    • With the tab up, gently pull the copper ribbon cable out.

    • Be careful not to damage the ribbon cable when pulling it out, as it is fragile.

    • Use the tweezers to gently fold the buttons away from the phone.

    • Be careful not to rip buttons off of the board. You will feel some resistance from the adhesive, but they should easily fold up if they are pulled from the bottom.

    • Use the spudger the speaker from the phone.

    • Place your thumb on the screen and gently push into the phone.

    • It should come out pretty easy. If it is not budging go back and check over the steps again.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
