Metal Backpack Clasp Replacement

What you need

Locate the broken metal clasp.

Locate the thread on the strap holding the metal clasp together.

Rip the thread using a seam ripper by cutting in a perpendicular direction.

Pull out all of the loose thread.

Pull out the strap through the buckle.

Remove the broken metal clasp.

Hoop in the new metal clasp where the broken clasp was located.

Fold the strap back through the buckle to match how it was originally.

Grab a needle and thread.

Mishandling of the needle could result in minor or moderate injury.
Re-stitch the strap using a needle and thread following the holes of the original stitch.
