Installing MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2010 Right Fan

What you need

  1. Installing MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2010 Right Fan, Lower Case: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the following ten screws securing the lower case to the upper case:

    • Three 13.5 mm (14.1 mm) Phillips screws.

    • Seven 3 mm Phillips screws.

    • When removing these screws, note how they come out at a slight angle. They must be reinstalled the same way.

    • Using both hands, lift the lower case near the vent to pop it off two clips securing it to the upper case.

    • Remove the lower case and set it aside.

    • Remove three T6 Torx screws securing the right fan to the logic board and upper case.

  4. Installing MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2010 Right Fan: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • Use a spudger to pry the fan connector straight up off the logic board.

    • Pry up from beneath the wires.

  5. Installing MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2010 Right Fan: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • Lift the right fan out of the upper case.
