Lenovo ThinkPad X390 SSD Replacement

What you need

  1. Lenovo ThinkPad X390 SSD Replacement, SSD: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Shut down and unplug the laptop before proceeding.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the five 2.7 mm screws on the base cover.

    • Insert a plastic opening tool between the base cover and the chassis.

    • Slide the tool along the perimeter of the case and push down as you go to release the base cover.

    • Lift the base cover up and off.

    • Use tweezers to grip the battery's motherboard plug, and pull the plug directly out of its port.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 5.2 mm screws securing the battery.

  5. Lenovo ThinkPad X390 SSD Replacement: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • Using your hands, remove the battery from the laptop.

    • Lift the battery up and out of its housing.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the single 2.9 mm screw securing the SSD to the motherboard.

    • Grip the SSD, and gently pull it directly out of its port.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

I have been building computers for 15+ years, i didn't go to a fancy college but even I know this tutorial is for replacing the SSD or M.2 to be specific for a X390 laptop. this is not the ram module
