Remove speaker screens by working them lose with a plastic opening tool. You may need to first losen them with iFixit tweasers or a craft knife.

  • These screens are held in place by glue and are hard to remove. Take your time.

Remove the 3.14" Philips screws from both spots that were covered.

Go all around the casing prying the screen away from the backing with a spudger.

  • It will make a popping sound each time one of the lock tabs is disconnected.

  • DO NOT USE A METAL TOOL FOR THIS.

  • Take your time as you move all around the device prying the backing off.

Remove the battery by grabbing the tab shown and pulling up.

  • The battery is held to the device by a bit of adhesive. Just pull the battery up from the tab and it will lift out with a bit effort.
