Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1570 RAM Replacement

Introduction

This RAM replacement guide can be used to replace the RAM after damage or repeated use. The RAM can be replaced to compensate for diminished performance, crashing, video card loading failure, corrupted data files, and incorrect system RAM display.

What you need

  1. Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1570 RAM Replacement, Back Panel: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Shut down and unplug your laptop before you begin.

    • Remove the nine 6 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

    • Remove the two 10 mm screws using a T5 Torx Screwdriver.

    • Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover.

    • Remove the back cover.

    • Gently remove the RAM cover with a spudger.

    • Although a metal spudger is shown in the photo, an ESD-safe nylon spudger is recommended.

    • Do not attempt to pull the RAM out without first pulling up the metal release brackets.

    • Gently remove the RAM by pulling up the metal release brackets, pushing the RAM forward out of its port, and lifting it up and out.

Simple and easy to follow guide, thank you! The Flex 4 I was working on had two additional 10mm screws in the top corners, this may be a later revision.
