Introduction
If your Lasko 18" Oscillating Pedestal Fan (S18902) is noisier than it used to be, or its fan speed has decreased significantly, it's probably time for some maintenance to restore it to its former glory. Periodically cleaning and lubricating fans is important, not only for their function, but to reduce the risk of fire; the hair and dust that accumulates around the motor is essentially tinder, and a single rogue spark can easily cause a house fire.
This guide demonstrates how to disassemble, clean, and lubricate your pedestal fan.
Unplug your fan before beginning.
