Introduction
This guide shows you how to replace the water filter in an LG Refrigerator LRFCS25D3. Replacing the water filter every six months, or as recommended by the manufacturer, helps improve the taste and quality of your drinking water and ice while maintaining proper water flow. A worn or clogged filter can reduce water pressure and allow impurities to remain in the water. This replacement is quick, requires no tools, and can be completed in just a few minutes.

Open the refrigerator door and locate the water filter at the top inside of the refrigerator.

Clear the area below the water filter to catch any water that may drip during removal.

Squeeze both sides of the water filter cover labeled "Push" until the cover clicks open.

Lower the cover on its hinges until it is hanging still.

Remove the old water filter by pushing it in and twisting it to the left until it clicks free.

Use a replacement water filter that is compatible with your LG refrigerator model.

Align the new filter with the opening. Push it in, then turn it clockwise until it locks into place.

Dispense about half a gallon of water to flush the new filter and remove trapped air.

Your water filter is now replaced and is generally replaced every 6 months but can vary by model.
