Perform a visual inspection and electrical test of the unit (damage, etc.).

Open the base (4 Phillips screws). Pull off the silicone hoses at the connections to the tank.

Now the heater with the hot plate can be pulled out. Loosen the Phillips screw of the electronics holder. Remove the electronics board and detach it from the frame (2 screws).

The X2 capacitor (C1, yellow) for the power supply of the electronics (relay, LED etc.) often has a strong capacity loss. As a result, the relay no longer pulls in. Nominal capacity is 470nF, often only approx. 250 nF are left. Unsolder capacitor and replace with new, specified X2 capacitor with 470 nF and 250 V AC.
