What you need

    • Lift the mixer arm and locate the large screw where the base meets the arm.

    • Using a flathead screwdriver, turn the screw counter-clockwise to raise the beater head or turn it clockwise to lower the beater head.

    • The beater head should pass only about 1/16th of an inch above the base of the bowl. One good way to get the height right is to place a dime in the bowl and adjust the height until the beater head barely brushes the dime as it passes.

Conclusion

Once your beater head is at the appropriate height, you're good to go.

I have a K5ss by Hobbart. Do you know how to adjust the bowl/beater clearance.?This machine does not have the screw that adjusts the clearance like the K45ss does. The manual tells how to turn a screw to adjust the clearance on a k45ss, but says to consult an authorized dealer for the k5ss. I called around and nobody in my area works on mixers. Is this something I can do myself? Any help would be appreciated.
