Joy-Con Battery Replacement

What you need

    • In order to open the joy-con, remove the joy-con from the console. Then, Using the Tri-point Y00 Screwdriver, remove the four corner screws. MAKE SURE TO OPEN SLOWLY!!!

    • After it is open, use the spudger to remove the battery connector.

    • Using the opening pick, insert it on the side of the battery in-between the battery and the battery casing then pry the battery up.

    • IF THE BATTERY IS INFLATED, BE VERY CAREFUL!!! (Use gloves.)

    • To fix the battery, you need a battery!

    • Place in the new battery in the EXACT same way.

    • If the adhesive is still sticky, you can reuse it. If not, you need to put some more on. Double stick Tessa tape works great for this. Please note you will need to scrape off the old tape or use things like Goo-Be-Gone.

    • With the battery connector in hand, (or tweezers!) place it over the connector on the motherboard, and press down. If it does not connect together, flip over and try again.

    • To put the case back together, then place the case right above the case and then push it together until you hear a click.

    • In order to replace the screws, place the four screws in their respective holes and screw them in using the Tri-point Y00 Screwdriver.
