Jeans Zipper Replacement

Introduction

You will no longer have to throw away your favorite pair of jeans, even if they have a broken zipper with this quick fix! All you need is a thread ripper, a zipper, pair of jeans, pins (optional), and a sewing machine.

What you need

  1. Jeans Zipper Replacement, Zipper: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Using a seam ripper, rip the seams off your pair of jeans.

    • Remove the broken zipper from the pair of jeans.

    • Remove any decorative stitching on the overflap of the zipper.

    • Remove excess threads with a seam ripper.

    • Align your new zipper with the overtap and undertap of the jeans, then pin it in place to hold it still.

    • Starting with the left side, sew along each line of previous stitching, including the waistband using a sewing machine.

    • Move to the right side and sew along the previous stitching.

    • Zip the zipper to the top.

    • Sew along the previous decorative stitching on the overflap of the jeans using a sewing machine.
