Introduction

Use this guide to replace the power button in the JVC XL-333 compact disc player.

  1. Using your Phillips Head Screwdriver, remove the four screws with the red markup.
    • Using your Phillips Head Screwdriver, remove the four screws with the red markup.

    • Then, remove the three orange screws using your screwdriver.

  2. Remove the two side screws on both sides of your CD Player.
    • Remove the two side screws on both sides of your CD Player.

    • Remove the top of the CD Player by holding each side of the roof then sliding it away from you in an upward position.

    • We will now remove the Disc Reader from as this is above of the power button.

    • Push out these tabs on both sides of the CD Player

    • To the remove the actual reader, there are four copper screws on the corners

    • Remove them with your Phillips Head Screwdriver and gently pull it up.

    • Connector Cables: There are two of each kind to remove on the motherboard. To remove the green ones, gently pull up.

    • To remove the white ones, use your spudger or tweezers to pull up on the opposite side the cables are connected. It may require some force

    • In an upward motion, move your spudger or tweezer to release the cables.

    • Remove the rest of the connector cables with either your spudger or tweezers.

    • Remove the screw that connects a wire to the motherboard as well.

    • Find the power button trigger on the left side of the CD Player. It should be gray.

    • Push it a couple times to make sure it works. If not hold it 3/4 of the way and pull with some force.

    • Replace with a new one.
