Instant Pot Smart-60 Anti-Block Shield Replacement

Introduction

The anti-block shield prevents little bits of food from clogging up the pressure release valve. It must be removed and cleaned after every use. This guide will demonstrate how to remove the anti-block shield on the device.

Open the lid of the Instant Pot. Grasp the handle and rotate the lid counter-clockwise, then lift up to separate the lid from the base.
Turn the lid upside down to access the anti-block shield.

Wedge the iFixit opening tool between the anti-block shield and the underside of the lid.
Push down on the opening tool until the anti-block shield pops out.
The anti-block shield is fit very securely over the vent. It may take some force for it to pop out, and the part may pop out with some speed.
