Introduction

This is a general guide of how to take an In-ground pool filter out of the pump, clean it and return it back into the pump.

  • Make sure the pool pump switch is off.

  • Unscrew the metal ring bracket that is on the pool pump in order to remove the pump lid. Turn the handle in a counter-clock wise motion until it is completely loose and the screw can be removed.

  • Take the metal ring bracket off.

  • Remove the pump lid.

  • Take the rubber hose ring off.

  • Unscrew the filter cap in a counter clock wise motion until it comes off.

  • Take the pool filter out and place on the ground. Put the new filter in and to put it all back together you can simply follow these directions in reverse order.
