Improving Washing Machine Leveling if it Moves During Use

This document is dedicated to leveling the washing machine. By improving the leveling and raising the machine slightly higher at the front, we can improve its operation. NOTE: I do not mean that this will solve all of the machine's movement problems, as these may be caused by other issues.

However, it does improve stability and reduce vibrations. Other problems that cause excessive vibration are: broken inner D-Pad, damaged bearings, defective shock absorbers, and broken tub support/struts. Therefore, each case of movement may be a different problem.

In this example, you can see that it has a board underneath. The floor was so uneven that I had to make a wooden frame to manage to level it properly.

In photo 2, you have a freehand drawing basically explaining what is going to be done: raising the 2 front legs by approximately 1/2 cm.

To adjust the 2 front feet, loosen the machine screw slightly and tighten the nut again; the level should be like this: "Slightly unlevel."

What are we aiming for with this type of adjustment or leveling?

Given problems with washing machines that move or shake excessively, that wear out, rub excessively, and tear the door seal, one of the things to check is the machine's leveling.

Instead of leveling it to 0° or completely level, both from left to right and from front to back, a tip that has worked very well for me and that I have been using and recommending for years is to level the machine laterally at 0°, but frontally—that is, from front to back—we should:

"Unlevel it slightly" by raising the front slightly higher than the back.

As seen in the photos and explained in the hand drawing I made, this ensures that as the washing drum rotates, it tends to pull away from the door slightly and move toward the back by a few millimeters, which improves the machine's stability. This idea came up years ago with the manufacturer Panasonic.

Perform the same operation on the front leg, on the left side.

Check with the level in the center to ensure that the left, right, and center are all equally level. They should be slightly elevated at the front.

Now it is time to check the lateral leveling; it must be perfectly centered.

We will check with the level on the front and see that it is perfectly leveled from left to right.

In this case, the subject of the document, it was not enough to raise the machine slightly higher at the front; due to the large slope and inclination of the floor, it was necessary to build a wooden base with planks recycled from a pallet to raise the machine more than the adjustable feet can provide.

Finish adjusting the frame in the space where the washing machine is located by adding pieces of wood to raise the front.
