Introduction
A watch's battery is responsible for maintaining the life-time of the watch. Therefore, a damaged battery will take away from the enjoyment of the watch. This guide highlights the steps required to replace the Huawei Jewel Battery. It can be a relatively difficult process, so follow all steps carefully.
What you need
-
-
Begin by laying the watch on a flat, smooth surface.
-
Obtain a Flex Extension with a Size 1.0 mm flat-head. In the case of not having said tool, for this model of watch one can use the hands to replace the strap.
-
-
-
-
Locate the 4 T3 screws in the back of your watch, and use the T3 Torx Screwdriver to unscrew them.
I have a Huawei Watch W1 Active and the screws are smaller than the T3 Torx ones. Is the hardware of the Huawei Watches W1 different depending on the model? I’m trying to use a T3 Torx Wiha Precision ESD 278 and it is bigger than the watch holes.
I bought a kit on ebay and followed these instructions. They were clear and SUPER helpful. THANK YOU!!! I’m so grateful I’m able to extend the life of my watch for a fraction of the cost of a new one especially since this model is discontinued.

Locate the two Phillips #00 screws holding down the motherboard, and use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove them.
Screws are very short so expect them to unscrew quickly. Also if the battery is old and has been swelling, the motherboard will pop up, be sure to expect that so you don't lose any screws.

-
Tool used on this step:iFixit Opening Picks (Set of 6)$4.99
-
Use the spudger or opening pick to carefully lift the battery from the watch.
Battery is glued to the watch face, so it will take some effort with a plastic spudger to release it.
-
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Any idea where one can purchase the actual battery? I can’t find one anywhere.
@Chris wellings: i was able to find one on ebay. Arrived quite quickly. And you definitely need a T2(not 3) screwdriver to open up the watch.
Also found one on eBay. I was replacing the battery on the standard Huawei Watch (W1) and this guide was really helpful.
T2, the T3 bit is definitely too big for these
T3 fit for me
It is not necessary to remove the glued down connector. The motherboard can be lifted out of the way while it is still connected via that flexy. It just requires a little care.
