Huawei P40 lite Screen Replacement

Introduction

1.Remove SIM Card Tray & Heat Back Cover:

  • Insert a SIM ejector tool into the hole on the left side of the frame to eject and remove the SIM card tray.
  • Apply heat to the edges of the back panel using a heat gun or heating pad (approx. 80°C for 2–3 minutes) to soften the perimeter adhesive.

2.Pry Open Back Panel (Safety Warning):Watch out for the side fingerprint sensor flex cable!.

  • Insert an opening pick under the lower edge of the back cover.
  • Slowly slice through the adhesive along the edges.

CRITICAL WARNING: Do not insert the opening pick deeper than 3–4 mm. The fingerprint sensor / power button flex cable is located on the right edge of the device. Inserting the tool too far will slice this cable.

  • Carefully lift off the back panel once the adhesive is fully severed.

3.Remove Motherboard Shield & Disconnect Battery:

  • Unscrew the 9 Phillips (PH000) screws securing the top plastic motherboard bracket.
  • Insert a spudger or opening pick under the plastic bracket notch and gently pry upward to unclip it from the frame.
  • Disconnect the Battery: Use a nylon spudger to pry up the battery press-connector immediately.

IMPORTANT: Always disconnect the battery power before touching the screen connector to prevent electrical shorts or blowing the backlight circuit on the motherboard.

4.Disconnect Display & Remove Battery:

  • Disconnect the display flex cable connector located adjacent to the battery connector.
  • Follow the pull-tab directions printed on the battery sleeve: lift tab 1, peel back tab 2, and pull tab 3 firmly upward to detach the battery from the frame bracket.

5.Heat & Separate the Display Panel:

  • Apply heat across the front display glass (approx. 80°C for 3–5 minutes) to soften the frame adhesive.
  • Insert a thin opening pick into the gap between the glass screen and the outer plastic frame.
  • Carefully slice around all four edges of the screen, keeping the pick depth under 3–4 mm to prevent damaging the LCD digitizer layers.
  • Unfeed the display flex cable through the slot in the midframe behind the battery area and lift the display completely off the chassis.

To install new display clean up all the old adhesive and using t-7000 glue follow the steps in reverse

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
