Introduction
Go to step 1 ↓The Tristar tester is a device used to test the Tristar chip on Apple devices. The Tristar chip is responsible for USB function and interfaces with the battery charging chip. The tester can be finicky, and the manual is not always helpful.

There are two modes

Standard - no need to do anything while booting up. The tester limits options to Quick Test

Expert - hold the right button while turning on the device enabling expert mode and the use of Test
