Wet a cotton pad (or swab) with acetone.

Gently press the wet cotton pad onto cracked areas for 3-5 seconds repeatedly.
Don't press too much on one area as this will lift and possibly remove the ink from that area.

Let the acetone dry for 3-5 minutes
Not letting it dry will cause the ink to separate again during the curing process.

Tape parchment paper on top of the cracked area.

With the flattening iron (or steam iron), apply heat through the printed area to cure the ink.
The ink will be extremely hot during and after this step!
