Introduction
If your hoodie drawstring is missing, frayed, or stuck inside the hood channel, use this guide to replace it with a new one. The drawstring allows you to adjust the hood's fit for comfort and protection from wind or rain.
Before beginning this guide, check your hoodie's drawstring channel for obstructions or damage. Check for frayed edges, twisted fabric, or any blockages that may prevent the new drawstring from threading smoothly. If the channel is torn, you may need to repair or stitch it before inserting a new drawstring.
Additionally, make sure your replacement drawstring matches the original length and thickness for a proper fit.
This guide uses a safety pin to help thread the new drawstring through the hood channel, but you can also use a bodkin or similar tool.

If the broken or old drawstring is still in the hood, gently pull it through one of the hood holes.

Open the safety pin and hook it through one end of the drawstring/shoelace.

Close the safety pin securely so it won't open when you put it in your hood.

Insert the safety-pinned end into one drawstring hole.

Work it through the hood by bunching and sliding the hoodie fabric along the pin.

Keep feeding the pin until it exits the opposite hole.

Pull both ends of the drawstring until they're an even length.

Take out your safety pin.

Remove you tape (if any was used).

Tie a small knot on each end to keep the string from slipping back in your hood!
