How to Replace a Curtain Rod

What you need

    • Remove the rod off the hook from the wall carefully with your hands.

    • Remove the screws from the hooks using a Phillips screwdriver or power drill with a Phillips head.

    • Use the tape measure to determine screw placement on the wall for the new curtain rod.

    • Replace the Phillips head in the power drill with a drill bit.

    • Drill the holes into the wall for the screws to secure firmly.

    • Place the screw into the hole on the hook and drill it into the holes on the wall.

    • Measure an equal distance between each hook. Repeat Step 5 for drilling in each hook on the wall.

    • Insert the rod into the curtain hole, leaving at least two inches of the rod on each side uncovered for hook placement.

    • Place the rod onto the curve of the hook for attachment. Then straighten out the curtain across the window.
