What you need

    • Disconnect the hose and place the end on a stable surface.

    • Hold the hose down against the surface and use the utility knife to cut the hose about two to three inches away from the old connector.

    • Be careful cutting through the hose as the utility knife is very sharp and the hose is thick.

    • Insert the new male hose connector into the open end of the hose, pressing it in by hand as far as possible.

    • Use the pliers to assist with pushing the connector completely into the hose.

    • Make sure the connector is fit completely to the edge of the hose.

    • Take the stainless steel clamp and loosen the screw by hand or with the pliers until it will slide around the hose.

    • Place the clamp close to the connector but not too close, and begin to tighten it by turning the screw on the clamp.

    • Use the pliers once it starts to get harder or a flathead screwdriver if you have one.

    • To make sure there are no other leaks between the connector and the spout, wrap Teflon tape around the thread of your water source 2-3 times.

    • Twist the new hose connector to the water source.

    • Do this by hand or with the pliers until it is secure.

    • Finally, turn the water on and make sure there are no leaks from the new connector.
