    • Place the object in a clear bright space.

    • Start by removing all the 0.5 cm screws off the leash with the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Using a plastic opening tool, begin to separate the top and bottom of the leash.

    • Make sure to press lightly to prevent unwanted marks.

    • It is most likely that the brake button will fall out. Place small items to the side to prevent it from being lost or undetected.

    • Carefully remove the brake mechanism. Inside should be a small spring.

    • Remove and replace the spring with a new one.

    • When placing the break mechanism back into its place, make sure the spring is positioned right in the middle.

    • When the spring is successfully placed, initiate the retraction to it's original position.

    • Make sure the top and the bottom are aligned properly.

    • Slowly press the top and the bottom of the leash until it returns to its initial position.

    • Finish by screwing the 0.5 cm screws in their original position.
