Bypassing the Hydrotech 89-series control valve is essential for addressing leaks or performing maintenance on the system. This guide will walk you through the process of using the integrated bypass feature to safely bypass the control valve.
What you need

Locate the red bypass knobs located between the control valve body and your home's plumbing.

Over time, these knobs may become difficult to move by hand, an 8mm Allen wrench (included with the valve) will help make this procedure easier.

Turn each knob to the inside so the knobs are in line with each other.

Use caution when pulling the Allen wrench out, the knobs may become unseated from the bypass assembly. If this happens, simply remove the knob from the Allen wrench and push down to reseat the knob in it's current position.

To put the control valve back into service, follow Step 2 in reverse order.
