Bristle on the brush roll being worn out or damaged plastic bearing cap prevents the brush roll from spinning properly. This page will guide you on how to open up the bottom plate and replace the brush roll

What you need

  1. Hoover Windtunnel Air Steerable Upright Brush Roll Replacement, Brush Roll: step 1, image 1 of 3 Hoover Windtunnel Air Steerable Upright Brush Roll Replacement, Brush Roll: step 1, image 2 of 3 Hoover Windtunnel Air Steerable Upright Brush Roll Replacement, Brush Roll: step 1, image 3 of 3

    • Remove the 4 phillips 3/4'' screws that hold the bottom plate.

    • Lift the plate up and off the vacuum head.

    • Pull the brush roll away from the belt and remove the old brush roll.

What I find really frustrating is no one sells the felt bushing that holds the brushroll next to the belt.
