Hoover Washing Machine Dispenser Drawer Removal

What you need

    • Turn off the washing machine and unplug it before removing the drawer or cleaning the dispenser cavity.

    • Keep water and cleaning cloths away from the control panel and power cord.

    • Locate the dispenser drawer at the top-left of the front control panel.

    • Pull the dispenser drawer straight out gently until it stops.

    • Find the blue MAX level indicator inside the drawer area.

    • Press down gently on the blue MAX level indicator while pulling the drawer out of the machine.

    • Do not force the drawer if it catches, because the stop tab may still be engaged.

    • Pop the blue level indicator out of the dispenser drawer.

    • Removing this insert gives better access to the underside of the drawer for cleaning.

    • Set the blue level indicator somewhere safe so it doesn't get lost.

    • Use an brush to scrub the dispenser drawer inside and out.

    • Scrub away detergent powder, conditioner residue, and any built-up gunge.

    • Do not reuse the brush for dental care after cleaning the washing machine.

    • Clean the area under the removed blue level indicator before refitting it.

    • Use a damp, soapy cloth to wipe inside the dispenser drawer cavity.

    • Wipe the surfaces you can reach without pushing loose residue deeper into the machine.

    • Do not use a brush inside the cavity, because it can fall down the hole and get trapped inside the washing machine.

    • Refit the blue level indicator into the dispenser drawer if you removed it.

    • Line up the dispenser drawer with the grooves in the cavity.

    • Push the drawer straight in until it sits fully home.

    • Open the washing machine door and inspect the rubber seal inside the doorway.

    • Use a damp, soapy cloth to clean dirt and residue from the door rubber.

    • Check that the drainage holes in the rubber seal aren't blocked.

    • Plug the washing machine back in after the cleaning areas are dry enough to use safely.

    • Run the hottest wash program with no clothes inside to flush out the washing machine.

    • Select a 90 °C wash program or the Drum Clean option if the machine has one.
